Ardbeg BizarreBQ is a bold limited‑edition single malt whisky from the iconic Islay distillery, created in an adventurous collaboration between Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden and BBQ expert Christian “DJ BBQ” Stevenson.
Inspired by the flavours of outdoor barbecues, this whisky is matured in a blend of double‑charred oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and experimental "BBQ casks" (
heavily charred fresh oak), resulting in a dramatically rich, smoky, sweet, tangy and savoury character... perfect for a BBQ!
With its vibrant peat smoke and complex flavour layers, BizarreBQ delivers an intense peated experience with notes that evoke charcoal embers, hickory-smoked ham, grilled artichoke, flamed steak and cinnamon-dusted espresso, perfect for adventurous whisky drinkers, BBQ enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Nose
Puffs of charcoal and soot mingle with smoky wood and aromatic herbs and spices. Treacle toffee, hickory smoked ham and cinnamon-dusted espresso rise up. A splash of water releases distinctively sharp citrus aromas, along with herbal notes such as fennel and aniseed. Grilled artichokes and a suggestion of seared meat sizzle the senses. The undeniable smell of bonfire and BBQ embers lingers in the background.
