Ardbeg Uigeadail, pronounced ‘Oog-a-dal’ and Gaelic for 'dark and mysterious place’, is a celebrated Islay single malt whisky named after the distillery’s water source, Loch Uigeadail.

Nose
On the nose, there is heavy peat smoke mixed with maritime sea spray, dark sugar, tobacco, and espresso. Scents of a smouldering coal fire and well-oiled leather bring warmth along with deep fruit notes like plums, cherries, figs, and a faint hint of floral parma violets.
Palate
A powerful, oily wave of earthy peat smoke combined with a strong kick of black pepper and warming spice comes across initially, s rich sweetness that breaks through the smoke, bringing flavours of warm salted caramel, dark chocolate, molasses, and Christmas cake from the sherry cask maturation. These are accompanied by savoury, meaty, barbecue-like undertones, charred wood, and an espresso bitterness.
Finish
Full flavoured and rich with a deep mouth-coating texture, a burst of winter spice notes set off a smoky-spicy flavour explosion countered by the sumptuous mid-palate taste of honey glazed smoked food. Waves of deep smoky tones build on the palate like a fine cigar. Extremely long, chewy, and warming, fades slowly from lingering peat smoke and dark cocoa into a sweet, briny, and slightly dry, nutty finish.
