First introduced in 1984, Blanton’s made history as the first bourbon to be commercially released as a single barrel whiskey, a concept that transformed the American whiskey landscape. Produced at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky, the bourbon is named in honour of Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who led the distillery from 1912 to 1953 and was known for selecting exceptional barrels for private bottlings. Each bottle is drawn from a single carefully selected barrel, meaning no two releases are exactly the same—making it one of the most collectible bourbons in the world.

Blanton’s Original Single Barrel remains the flagship expression of the range, offering a beautifully balanced and approachable Kentucky straight bourbon. Taken from the center-cut or middle sections of the famous Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace, Blanton’s Original Single Barrel was once designated for ambassadors, dignitaries, and Colonel Blanton’s family and friends.

Known for its signature collectible horse-and-jockey stopper system (one of eight collectible letters spelling "B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S"), Blanton’s Original Edition is highly regarded for its balance of sweetness, spice, and oak complexity. Each bottle comes from an individual barrel, allowing subtle variations from barrel to barrel while preserving the signature Blanton’s profile of sweet corn, caramel and spice.

TASTING NOTES:

Nose: Rich aromas of caramel, vanilla and honey with hints of citrus peel, subtle dried fruit, toasted oak and light baking spices such as clove, nutmeg, or cinnamon.

Palate: Smooth and full-bodied with layers of sweet corn, caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, baking spice, and charred oak. Gentle rye spice adds structure while maintaining balance and approachability.

Finish: Long, warm, and slightly spicy with lingering oak, vanilla, and caramel sweetness.
