From the fabulous Fettercairn, this 10 year old Highlander has been fully matured in bourbon barrels, resulting in a lovely whisky with fresh stone fruits, vanilla and a crush of white pepper.
Fettercairn is amongst a handful of distilleries which do not get as much recognition and appreciation as they rightfully deserve. Founded by Sir Alexander Ramsay in 1824, this Highland distillery is known for the innovative cooling rings on its pot stills and its distinctly fruity and savoury spirit.
This single malt was distilled in 2011 and in 2021, the casks were opened by independent bottler Càrn Mòr, releasing an outturn of 1,244 bottles for its Strictly Limited collection.
