From the fabulous Fettercairn, this 13 year old Highlander has been fully matured in bourbon barrels, resulting in a lovely whisky with fresh stone fruits, vanilla and a crush of white pepper.
Fettercairn is amongst a handful of distilleries which do not get as much recognition and appreciation as they rightfully deserve. Founded by Sir Alexander Ramsay in 1824, this Highland distillery is known for the innovative cooling rings on its pot stills and its distinctly fruity and savoury spirit.
This single malt was distilled in 2008 and in 2022, the cask was opened by independent bottler Claxton's, releasing an outturn of 229 bottles for its Warehouse No.1 collection.
