Part of Gordon & MacPhail’s universally adored Connoisseurs Choice series, this Glenturret single malt was matured for 14 years in a single first-fill sherry hogshead before being bottled in 2019.
This is a spicy and powerful 53.3% expression from the Perthshire distillery, with fruity aromas of orange, raisins, cherries, toffee apples, stewed prunes and oaky spice building up to a palate comprising of candied orange, lemon peel, dark chocolate and toasted hazelnuts, ending in a lingering, citrus laced nutty finish.
Natural colour, non-chill filtered.
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE: Sherry aromas come together in balance with sticky toffee apple and candied orange. Stewed prunes, sultanas and dates in perfect harmony with woody and leather nuances.
PALATE: Rich and mouth-coating. Candied orange, lemon peel, dark chocolate, and treacle. Red apple flavours complement notes of hazelnut and walnut with fresh baked panettone flavours.
FINISH: Drying nutty tones on the finish with lingering citrus highlights.
