An absolutely delicious Mannochmore single malt from independent bottler
Càrn Mòr, matured in ex-bourbon hogsheads for its Strictly Limited series. Expect notes of honeyed granola, with dried pineapple, papaya, and toasted almonds to go along with the fruity Mannochmore profile.
This 12 year old scotch whisky was distilled in 2010 at the Mannochmore distillery in Speyside before maturing in select ex-bourbon hogsheads. Prior to bottling, the whisky was vatted and proofed back to 47.5% ABV, with no chill-filtration or colour added. 794 bottles were produced.
Mannochmore is one of Diageo's workhorses for its blends so its rarely seen as a single malt in official Diageo releases.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Ripe stone-fruits, gentle tropical notes (dried pineapple, papaya), honeyed granola, soft vanilla-oak, and subtle floral hints.
Palate: Creamy grain sweetness, juicy sultanas or red berries, mellow caramel, coconut, toasted almonds, and a silky-medium texture with gentle wood spice.
Finish: Moderately long, toasty, and warm with a lingering grain-honey sweetness.
