Thomson distillery in Riverhead, North West of Auckland, was established in 2014 to create whiskies that would embody the character of New Zealand.
This expression from its Cask Collection was made by marrying whiskies from two different types of casks — refill American oak and European oak that used to hold New Zealand red wine — hence the name Two Tone.
The palate offers notes of sea air, caramelised fruits, red berries and apricots brought together by an underlying spicy tang.
