Whitlaw is the name used for Highland Park's whisky sold to independent bottlers and it is quite rare indeed to see a Whitlaw. It is even rarer to see one from an STR Finish, like this particular expression.
This 7 year old single malt is packed full with classic Orkney whisky character with notes of sea salt, toffee, baking spices and maple syrup balanced with delicate peat smoke.
Distilled under the Whitlaw name at Highland Park in 2014, this single malt was treated to seven years of maturation, including a finishing period in STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) casks. In 2022, the gang at Càrn Mòr bottled it up for the Strictly Limited series, with a total of 1,603 bottles released.
